5.1 home theatre around 50k or less

I am not an audiophile but just want a decent 5.1 system for watching bluray rips (including 3D) & Tv shows. I am trying to keep my budget around 50k or less. I have shortlisted the following home theatre systems. Your suggestions are welcome:

  1. Yamaha RX V375 + Boston Acoustics XS 5.1 + DAC cables (exceeds budget)
  2. Yamaha RX V375 + JBL CS 460 (maybe DAC cables)
  3. Onkyo HT S4505
  4. Onkyo HT S6505 - need to determine price

I am leaning towards BA XS 5.1 as it carries 5 years warranty for speakers (except subwoofer) but Onkyo has Audyssey.

Stay away from JBL CS set. Way below average.

If you have heard this combo and liked it, then you could as well go for it

Most of the times, the better choice always exceeds the budget. True for all upgrades in all price ranges. :p

Audyssey is useless.

Dunno about you about a lot of posts on the internet seem to favor audyssey. Almost every review I have read has been positive about Onkyo HT S4505.

The ultimate use of an AVR is to decode HD audio in the content you will play through it, rest everything else is their way of playing with equalizer settings and put fancy things in our head like auddessey etc. If you play HD content on it, the DOLBY/DTS/DOLBY TRUE HD/DTS HD MASTR AUDIO will be lit and you won't need auddessy/other crap. If you'll play anything less than HD on it, it will sound like 2 k speakers no matter what setting you use. :indifferent14:

You still haven't suggested anything from the list or your own personal choice

You should better opt for Yamaha RX V375 + Boston Acoustics XS 5.1 option.
Because it's the best combination which I can think of except HTib.
Otherwise Onkyo HT S4505 is a good HTiB. No need to for higher model in HTiB, there won't be any huge difference in performance.
But you need to start audition to know which sound you like ...

Audition anything before you buy. Go for Onkyo if ur not bothered with music quality. movies rock on onkyo but not music. Else you can also go for Yamaha / Pioneer / Mantraz if you love music avoid Denon and Onkyo.
