I am getting a BSNL FTTH connection on Monday. I plan to connect this to my HT / Audio systems. Essentially I plan to connect my TV, AVR, Audio PC, HTPC - all through ethernet cables. The plan provides 100mbps initially. I will positively enhance the speed later once I start using it.
The optical fiber cable Modem that BSNL will supply has two ports and a WiFi. I need to get a 5 or 6 port switch that can go up to 1000mbps as and when I decide to enhance the FTTH connection.
I have not worked on Networking or related products for a very long time. so I am completely out of touch.
I would request people who are current with the technology to recommend a few models of ethernet switches I can choose from. My objective is to fit and forget.
