Suggestions for HT

Dear Friends,

I am planning to buy HT for my living room (17x12). My budget is between 70-100k. My only preference is good sound. I am open to all FS/BS/SAT speakers. Although I want it to look good.

I have read very good reviews about:

Denon 1713 + Wharfedale DX1 package
Denon 1713 + Energy take 5.1
Denon 1713 +Wharfedale MS100

On Hifi mart I also see good deals:
Wharfedale Diamond 10.2 Home Theatre 5.1 Package + Denon AVR-1713 AV Receiver

Wharfedale Obsidian 600 Home Theatre Package

Please provide me valuable suggestions. I am in Pune. Where can I go for audition?

You have a good budget, please do not be in a rush. Demo as many systems and then decide. You might also want to visit :

Consider sonodyne avant range of speakers. Will do a nice job for HT. Try to get an audition in your city....

With that budget I would surely choose Yamaha RX-V673 + Wharfedale DX1 .
V673 is DLNA-certified, and streaming from a NAS device on your network is a treat up to 24bit/96kHz. Internet radio works fine.

I have decided to for bs speakers first and shortlisted warf10.2,122/ma bx2. I am not sure in Pune where I can get audition? Please let me know if you have any idea. Yesterday I went to avxl. They only have paradigm mini monitor. That also was very good.

Please suggest good bs speakers in budget of around 30k which works with 1713.

You have a good budget, you can go for a better receiver like Denon 2113 / Yamaha 673/Pioneer VSX-922K or Onkyo TX NR-515. Please do not choose the system purely on basis of what others have wrote about different combo. Sound is a very subjective issue. Listen to different combos as much as you can and then decide.

Rohit Entpr (Lakozy) is the agent for Monitor Audio / PSB in Pune. I was with him on Sunday. He has one MA BS for demo, not sure which one it was. You can speak with him. PSB are also very good.

hifimart is at par with any online site regarding price..
where in e bay you ate getting whardale speakers:lol:....could you give the link...
and 616 with fair price..

some local dealers maybe cheaper than hifimart..thats different issue

Well said !!! It is worth putting that effort for getting very good dividends in long run. A lesson for me too in setting up HT.
