During the past few months I had to live without my daily dose of analog music as my house was under major repairs that forced me to pack up all gear and keep it away. But thankfully the job was completed last month and the system is singing again, although I have not completed some of the system related projects.
Here are a few pics.

The overall view.

This section shall hold a Garrard 301 and a Lenco L75 in custom plinths. The projects are underway, meanwhile I have installed my spare Lenco on the 301 mounting board with the SME 3012 and commenced the show. The cartridge is a Shure M3D with my own retipping job.

The SS amplification is handled by a Superscope R1270 receiver that can drive two pairs of speakers at 35 WPC. Superscope were the owners of Marantz for some time and this receiver is from that era. The amp section in this receiver is Marantz 1070. The thermionic amplification is taken care of by the Quad IIs for PP and Akai 1710 for SE. The Superscope preamp supports both these power amps. I have a Quad 22 pre, but it is better to use a modern pre amp to get the best out of these classics.

The vintage towers are custom built and date from 1963. The original configuration was 3way with Goodmans drivers, I changed that with Jensen DL220 co-axial drivers. The fullrange bookshelfs atop the towers are designed and developed by forum member vktarun and me. Next to the towers are my Tannoy LSU IIILz. The cabs have been refurbed and awaiting driver reinstallation. These Tannoys are very unique, the cone size is 10, but the VCs are bigger than even 15 MGs. Sitting proudly in the chairs are the latest to join my fleet, the Altec 604c Duplex. They have no baffle or box to support them at the moment, but have already shown that they shall rule the speaker kingdom here for quite some time.

Thanks in advance to all forum members who go through this post.

Best Regards,

Nice collection of equipment including some vintage stuff. What is the cabinet plan for the 604c? I have a Shure M3D cartridge with NOS stylus. Sounds lovely.

Keep us posted on the developments.

Cheers

My my what a collection. Send me your address. I am organizing a raiding party with mercenaries better to loot these than a bank:lol::lol:

BTW lovely collection once again.

Thank you all.

@Anilva
I shall most likely go down the OB route for the 604s. The required cab size is too big to fit in the available space.

@yogibear
No issues here about facing lots of questions. The 604s weigh nearly twenty kilos apiece. New ones can be sourced from Great Plains Audio of USA. The ones I have are made in 1956, they were found in the junk room of a recording studio. The information regarding the timeline and tech specs of the various 604 versions is available here.
Altec 604 Duplex Speakers and related

@lifewater.
All FMs are welcome for a friendly party to enjoy the music :)

@Record Player.
The electronic gear and TT is on a rack that is designed to support two 50kg plinths and heavy valve amps. Do you mean the speakers to have racks and stands? They shall most probably move to the second listening room when the Altec project is completed.

@ Kaushik
Shall do an AV when I have a good DSLR.

@Sachin,
I would like to show the gear once the intended projects for each is completed. But I shall not disappoint you. This is what I have for today.
Fisher KS1a speakers. The cabs are good and the drivers in pristine original condition. The original design is closed box that sounded muddy to me, so I removed the rear panel and the glass wool stuffing to make them OB. This was possible the cab depth is only 4 inches.

The Quads in GLOrious action, driving the Fishers.

The Lenco plinth is almost complete. I have to service the motor, spindle bearing, tonearm to conclude this project.

Regards to all
