Tatasky : Signal Quality and Signal Strength Drop : Only during night !

Gentlemen,

Need your kind guidance.

My tatasky HD is behaving weirdly. During day time, the signal strength and signal quality are good enough to play the pictures correctly.

But during night time, they go down and suddenly to zero sometimes for a fraction of second. And its periodic.

Did all the basic prelim checks like the card connections, HDMI port and cable ports. Everything is fine.

Now the only option left is master reset.

During master reset, it asks for Satellite information.

On which satellite does Tatasky broadcast ?

Any help will be really great.

Looks like cliff effect. Do a channel scan at night. Are you using slitter? If so, then call up technician and upgrade to dual cable.

Before i ask you other questions about the issue you face. Pls share the Signal Levels (Strength, Quality and CNR levels) of:

Ch. 2031
Ch. 2032
Ch. 100
Ch. 666

you probably have a shared dish right?
it's a cable/splitter issue, most probably at the dish end. i had the same issue, had to get the cable & splitter in the dish changed. you'll have to have the TS guy come over & repair that

I had this issue. The problem was with the cable. They had intentionally connected 2 different awg cables in an attempt to save hassles. These technicians are sometimes jokers.
