A treat to all Vinyl lovers,
The sixth edition of Microgroove, the vinyl club, hits Zenzi Bandra in Mumbai this Sunday, August 14. Microgroove is for anyone who wants to treasure and preserve the tender, delicate physicality of music. It brings together collectors, connoisseurs and appreciators of the sound of the vinyl record, across the city. To be a member of the club, the only criteria is that one should be passionate about the medium.
This Sundays edition is dedicated to indie rock from Neutral Milk Hotels jangly orchestral soundscapes to Pavements almost-grunge to Modest Mouses moody beat. Vitek Goyel, frontman of Slow Down Clown and owner of an enviable record collection, will play a curated set of records charting a brief history of indie rock. Vitek says his set will loosely follow the lines of the Michael Azerrard book Our Band Could Be Your Life and I cant wait to see what he has in store. The event will also have an open playlist after the curated session wherein anyone can line up any of their records (bring as many as you like) on the turntables at the venue.
The good peeps at Sony Music will be giving away a two-disc edition of Primal Screams Vansihing Point to one lucky attendee. As always, well be setting up tables for people who want to sell or exchange LPs they want to trade.
Zenzi will once again have a discounted menu for the day, and weve got a bunch of other surprises in store as well. Heres hoping to see you at Zenzi on Sunday.
