Hello,

I am looking for a 42-inch non-smart, 2D LED TV to replace me now-sold 50-incher Plasma. PQ is paramount, not so much enthu about the bells and whistles. Budget preferable under 50K

Yesterday did a quick recce of nearby stores and saw two TVs -
LG 42LB5610 - offered at 48.8K without the free DVD player and with 1 year additional warranty
LG 42LB550A - Listed at around 50K IIRC

550A looked a bit washed out but the 5610 was pretty decent. Has anybody had any experience with this TV? Is 48.8K a reasonable price to pay? Flipkart has it at 44K but I guess the warranty is only for 1 year. Can one buy from Flipkart and go for additional warranty with LG?

What are my other options?

TIA

Just out of curiosity, why the downsizing?

Usually people look to increase the viewing size.

Why not look for the LG 42 incher plasma PN4500/ Panasonic if available too?

I am actually moving my HT setup from the living room and merging with my bedroom setup. The TV would be used for both TV and movies so looking at an LED panel so save a bit on electricity, avoid TIR (my LG plasma was a bit prone to that) and reduce the size as the viewing distance will shrink.
