Turntables in Chennai

Friends,

Are there any dealers for turntables in Chennai? I had visited Pro Fx at Spencer Plaza.But I am not satisfied with their response.I request our forum members to kindly provide me with necessary information regarding this.My budget is around Rs.25000.00.

Hi why don't you go the vintage/used turntable route? Getting a decent vintage turntable within that budget would give you a far better performing turntable that what you would get from a new one. Worth exploring Ritchie Street for used TT options. I am sure local FMs will be able to contribute in a better way about the sellers.

Best is invest something on Vintage TT learn things then move ahead with Legend Vintage TT .Philips,Pioneer,technics, Akai,Comic made some good entry level TT,You could grab one in nice condition, If you visit Richie street any working day+Saturday.

Even when you go to via the used route, from experience, I would say try getting turntables which have a decent arm. This gives you the option of later upgrading to a better cartridge and there might not be compliance issues. Maybe you do not get the rationale right now, even i did not when I got my first turntable.

Try checking out options like Cosmic Cogram, EMI Sonic, Few Akai wooden plinth models, etc. which have better arms.

It is just diagonally opposite to the Pammal Municipality office. May be 300 feet from Municipality office.

I agree with FM Kartick keep the vintage TT route in mind. You need patience and a eye for that TT in mint condition coming your way. The vintage TT mostly have a robust build, and as FM friend says "will last you for ever". From my experience I can say vintage is the best route. I would add to the many names that other FMs have suggested do look for a vintage Garrard !! My two cents......Best wishes.....
