Hi All,:)
I am planning to buy 47 - 50 inch led tv. I have selected Toshiba L2400 47 inch led as it fits my budget. However downside of this TV is it has only one hdmi and 1 usb with no audio out port.
Later I also intend to buy Samsung HT-J5550K bluray hometheater system.
1000 W 5.1Ch Blu-ray Home Entertainment System J5550 | SAMSUNG India
Will I be able to connect this home theatre to Toshiba L2400 tv correctly and can I connect DTH tv sound to home theatre, so as to enjoy HD channels with 5.1 sound thorough home theatre.

Can I go with this particular Toshiba model or is it compulsory to have audio out in TV to enjoy Tv channels in home theatre, or can I connect STB to home theatre for sound output into home theatre.
STB has one HDMI (connected to tv) and a av and spdif port.

Please help !!!!
Thanks in advance.

Regds.........

Getting a TV with Optical out is always handy.. Even better if the TV supports HDMI-ARC function.. Try to run thru the specs/locate the manual online & check if the TV HDMI port support HDMI-ARC function..

My bluray player has only one hdmi out. Can i use hdmi splitter to feed av receiver (for hd sound) and hd tv (for full hd picture). Is splitting possible with hdmi?

I'm using HDMI cable for video signal (goes from BD player directly to TV) and optical cable for audio (from BD player to receiver). Unfortunately because of optical cable transfer capabilities I'm not able to get True HD audio -it down grades to Dolby Digital. in my understanding I got only way to go -HDMI for both audio and video.

one option is to use HDMI from BD player to receiver and use second HDMI cable to connect receiver and TV.

second option is to get Y-HDMI splitter and run HDMI cables to TV and receiver.

I don't see much sence in sending video signtal to receiver and prefer to send it directly to TV because sometimes we prefer to watch movies without using receiver and direct HDMI connection in this case comes very handy.

will I loose or gain anything by using HDMI splitter?

Check whether your receiver has HDMI bypass option. It will help you to watch TV without turning on the receiver
