Hello Folks,

Planning to buy a TV for my senior citizen parents. My requirement

55" 4K.
Price should be reasonable and long durable with less issues (hope its not a myth in 2024 😁 )
Not looking for a fancy stuffs
Should be a smart tv. Mostly they use Prime, Hotstart and youtube.
Budget - Less than 50k :), Less than 40K would be fantastic, everyone would be happy.

Checked Amazon and confused as there are too many of them. Having hard time to choose among them. Also, not sure what exactly I have to look for.

Check best brands entry level TV's like
Samsung Crystal /LG UR75series /Sony 74XX series.

Or

Get Hisense / MI tvs you can get Dolby Atmos/Dolby vision support irrespective of price.

I don't need Atmos. Picture quality should be good. They have a JBL 2.1 soundbar which is more than sufficient for my parents. Durability is what my main priority/preference. How about these Hisense, MI, xiaomi, Kodak etc tvs?

Hisense/Mi-Xiaomi qled is reasonably good. Don't go for Kodaka/Thomson.

Or Go for Samsung/LG/Sony entry level tvs you get in 45-50k for 55inch inclusive of card discount.

I see a lot of post about TCL and Hisense. How is the after sale service and quality of these products ? My preference is QLED and I see people are referring to VA Panel as a better one over IPS. Any inputs folks ?

I'm also on the same boat. I'm looking for a 50/55 4k LED for my parents. They had a 43in MI which conked off recently after 4.5 years.
There are too many of them on Amazon/Flipkart, more so with different models at same price point from same manufacturer.
Any help with this is highly appreciated.

You need a good upscaling engine in the TV to scale up video quality. I believe Sony, LG and Samsung have good upscaling technologies compare to other brands. Check other features like eARC in case if you have plans to upgrade your soundbar.

Tvs bought from Amazon of flipcart are havinv warrenty? Please check before taking call.

I bought a Sony 4K LED 55” from amazon about 1.5 years back and gifted to my in-laws. There was this official warranty on the product. In fact Sony guys came themselves for the fitting and demo. In laws stay in tier II city. After the order, I got a call from Sony guys on there own w/o any follow ups. They came, set it up & went, butter smooth.
