Hi

There are separate threads / posts on Sony and Samsung...you may want to visit each and see what are the user experiences and issues...

Today's TVs are short life! The panel can fail you even after a year of use and there are enough of complaints and reviews over the internet which support the same.

You need to decide the screen size, features, connectivity etc. etc. you would want in a TV...

See these links to understand the basic difference in TVs...

You need to then go window shopping at a electronics store and see TVs side by side and shortlist the models that appeal to you and your budget....

Toshiba and Sharp are the only brands so far who offer 3 years warranty and given the so called TV built up quality etc...it is better to choose the TV which has maximum warranty.

should get the F4900 for 40k...........excellent plasma for the price. Plasma is much better for the same price but is more suited for low light viewing. For bright rooms with lot of light LED works better. As per the Samsung website, the new H series have replaced the F series, so better to go with H4900.

The F5500 is next but priced much higher, one of the best!!!

Welcome to our forum.

There are plenty of TVs for a budget of Rs 50,000.

You should specify what size you are looking for, room Dimensions etc so more accurate suggestions can be made.

Of hand, I guess you are looking at a 42 inch sized TV. Samsung F4900 and H4900 are good models. So is the LG N4500. These go between Rs 35,000 - Rs 40,000 so should be within your budget.

I would also recommend a starter HTIB with the money you save, as most flat panels have very poor audio quality.
