hey bros. as most of you know that i have onkyo 807 avr,it has two sub pre-outs my question is can i use only one sub pre-out and attach two subwoofer with y-splitter cable actually i already have y-splitter cable and another subwoofer cable which is around 12 feet so its kinda short if i use second sub pre-out connection from avr which sits at 20 feet away from subwoofer and if i buy another long sub cable then my y-splitter and second sub cable will be a waste so if using only one pre-out for connecting 2 subs is there chance for damage or overloading the avr please reply asap

Hi,

You may use a 'Y' splitter or dual subwoofer cables.
The user manual of the Onkyo TX-NR-807 clearly mentions that the dual jacks are for powered sub-woofers with two inputs and the same signals are output each jack.

regards,

Nitin.

To add to what Nitin has said, in a point 1 set up, there is only signal going to the LFE channel. Essentially what a Point 2 AVR does is to split the signal internally. You can either use that or use an external Y splitter.

Cheers
