Hi, At last on my Blu-Ray player search,I came up with these 2 models.

Panasonic BDT-160 - 10,250
Samsung BD-F6500/H6500 - 10,000

Also tell me the difference between Samsung BD-H6500 & BD-F6500

My main usages are,

*Connecting to Nexus 7 2013
*HDD smooth playback
*Usb playback
*Necessary apps
*Playback of all different video formats. [mainly mp4 & mkv]
*All the audio codes support

Currently I'm rooting towards H6500 from Samsung. Simply because of the wireless connectivity option & HDMI cable.
But I hear that BDT 160 is also a good model.

Suggestions needed.
I need to make a decision tomorrow. :)

Hi,

I'm also leaning towards the Samsung H 6500 model. it got very good ratings all over the internet. Also, plenty of futures with good Audio and Video performance as well.

It has all the thing you need in a BD player. And latest one too.
Even plays 4k videos,upscales video to 4k,
Only down side I found is that It has only 1 HDMI port.
Nothing else. So,You would want to buy a splitter in order to connect HT.

Hi

For stable performance and good future firmware updates, you may want to consider the Pioneer BDP 160 / 170 or if you want 2 HDMIs...look at Pioneer BDP 450 or BDP LX 55...

Both the players have 2 USB ports and easily read 1 TB external HDDs like a breeze. The Audio / Video quality is tops....

Hi,

After reading the review in sound and vision. I'm more confused particularly at this point he mentioned that ''The players audio and video prowess didnt let me down in any way and matched the experience from my reference Oppo BDP-103D player''.

I'm in confusion between Samsung BD-H6500 and BD-H5500 models. I have a 3D SMART TV, so no specific need for that wifi/ or SMART HUB features in player. When I closely watched the specifications, the main difference that confuses me is in the AUDIO department:

H6500 has DTS-HD Master Audio Decoding and DTS-HD High Resolution Audio Decoding with Audio decoding output Dolby Decoding 7.1 Channel while the H5500 don't have DTS-HD MA and only 2.1 decoding??

I'm planning to pair it with a AVR capable of decoding DTS-HD MA ... Both of the above players has DTS-HD Bitstream Output and LPCM. I think both of these will send true uncompressed Master Audio to AVR through HDMI; so AVR do the decoding..

 Please guide me...
