Urvashi Cinema (Bangalore) is being upgraded just in time for Transformers 3

The cinema theatre has been closed for renovation for the last 2 weeks!

Harkness Screens the worlds leading manufacturer of projection screens for cinema applications, is debuting its Perlux 220 3D screen in India with the recent install at the Urvashi Cinema in Bangalore.

Featuring a 56-foot by 28-foot Perlux 220, Urvashi is the first 3D digital equipped single screen cinema in India. With a seating capacity of 1,100, including a balcony of 464 seats, Urvashi has some 30 3D movies lined up over the next 12-18 months.

In addition to the Perlux 220, the 3D system installed at Urvashi includes Christie projection (4K DLP Cinema Solution from Christie Solaria series), a Qube XPD server solution and the XpanD 3D system.

Hi,
Any idea what the original sound system was?

(Amps,Speakers etc)

Regards
Rajiv

No idea on their old system! If you are really want to know you can ask them on their Facebook page, they are really active there, giving out informations, answering to questions, taking feedbacks etc.

By the way booking has started now on Bookmyshow.com

Meyer sound is good for home theater for sure, but not the best option for music in my opinion. Meyers has one of the more natural balanced sounding speakers for home theater, does not emphasis midband and high end like many other professional sound systems. For music I just feel they fall short in both detail and soundstaging when it comes to music playback. That is because of there design which common with most high PA type speakers that need to project high sound pressure levels for live sound. But yes there not bad sounding and if I was doing a dedicated home theater system would certainly consider them.
