I am thinking of buying a used Onkyo 3200S HT for use with my 42" LG42LK450

It is 2 years old.

This is my first purchase of a HT so I have no idea what are the pitfalls & what I should watch out for.

I shall be grateful if the members can help me on how to verify that the HT is perfect condition & what is the price I should pay

Thanks for advising

Better you should have posted in HT section. Following are the connection type. what is asking price? Next model 3300 available for 17-20 K and 3400 available for 22-25 K

1 x audio line-in ( mini-phone stereo 3.5 mm ) - front 1 x composite video/audio input ( RCA phono x 3 ) - front 3 x HDMI input ( 19 pin HDMI Type A ) - rear 1 x HDMI output ( 19 pin HDMI Type A ) - rear 2 x component video input ( RCA phono x 3 ) - rear 1 x component video output ( RCA phono x 3 ) - rear 2 x SPDIF input ( TOSLINK ) - rear 1 x SPDIF input ( RCA phono ) - rear 3 x composite video/audio input ( RCA phono x 3 ) - rear 1 x composite video/audio output ( RCA phono x 3 ) - rear 2 x audio line-in ( RCA phono x 2 ) - rear 1 x audio line-out ( RCA phono x 2 ) - rear

If that used 3200 is in good working condition go for it. If you dont have any budget constraints, the go with the new 3400. The 3200 does not have HDMI ver 1.4a. When you connect your DVD/BD player using a HDMI, then you need to tap the audio using a optical or a coax.

Thanks for pointing my error.
I have posted in the HT section also now

Hey shravank30,

I agree with Siva1306. If money is a constraint then, I would say it should be between 12-13K if it looks and feels real good. Else, as suggested by Ajay_k73 check out the prices at your place for the new ones.

I had been quoted 12K for a used 3300 though i did not got it.
15K is too high for a 2 year old HTiB which is not in market now. Owner enjoyed the Warranty period. Cheapest onkyo available in market now is 17-18K.
I would say anything around 10K will be good

Thanks for the advice

The seller has gone silent for the past few days.
Not responding
Will offer him 10K if he responds & see how it goes.
Will not go above 10K, as advised by the members, as the item is quite dusty as seen from the photos
Thanks for advising

A beautiful, well-constructed speaker with class-leading soundstage, imaging and bass that is fast, deep, and precise.
