Used subs... advisable?

I have a pair of floorstanding speakers. I was wondering if it is a good idea to look out for a used subwoofer. If yes, does anyone know where I can get one from?

any suggestions or advice is most welcome.

If I go for a new sub what would be a decent buy? My towers are PSB T6.

With T6 ideal match is PSB Subseries 300 but now since your requirement is 50% of both Music and Movies then please do audition PSB HD8 which is a sealed subwoofer and also very powerful. But its a fantastic subwoofer for Music as well as Movies. Both the above models retails around 55K.

thats much beyond my budget...i was looking for within 30 ish K. For 30Kish would I find a good sub???

For that price (55K), I think I should be able to get hold of SVS SB12 or HSU VTF-3. Which I heard are really good subs.
