Just seen the new videocon 3d tv 32 in exhibition at nashik. Seems to be OK as compare to other brands

The deft is up to 16 and 2d-3d conversion is excellent.
The glasses are fiacre free and equal to passive glasses. They providing 3 pieces. Battery operated ( no need to recharge ,battery life 2 years)

Now to price. This is interesting

I seen 32 in exhibition, .They offered me 49999 for 32 and told me the 55 is available in next with mrp 150000 ( bargaining price 1200000 ) .I immediately visited next The sales person told me we are selling these at 99K.( main thing i even not started bargaining)..

Friends please visit nearest store and let the desi brand comparison put on the board

IMO, days of LED active 3Ds are numbered. Next year there will be more passive 3D LEDs with lower price. Active 3Ds will remain only in high end plasmas. So it is wiser to go for LG LED passive 3Ds.

Is that your opinion or any news on it?

Has anyone had a chance to check out the TV. I had seen it at Hypercity, however it wasn't beside any other TV so couldn't do a like to like comparison.

The closest LED I have seen is the sony at 1.5L

Am looking for a 50" plus TV, are the plasma a good option ? Everytime the sales guy says old technology, I think its because it is cheaper they want to push the LED ones.

3D is not a big deal, will be watching 2D content mostly. Any views ?? It is going to be an expensive purchase.

Cheers,
Vikram.

In a few ways that statement is correct... Plasma is the older tech compared to LED but that does not make it inferior... Till date in most high end LED tv reviews it says that this this LED TV is almost as good as a plasma in PQ... So eventhough its an "Outdated" tech most highend LEDs are reviewed on the basis of how close they cm to Plasma in PQ... That should tell you a lot... Also plasma provide better VFM...

Quite true, LED's can't compete with PLASMA in the VFM aspect.
