Viera Cast

I own Panasonic viera 32D25D. It has viera cast. I would like to know whether anybody tried to use skype application through vieracast? Is it necessary that I need to buy only Panasonic communicator camera for using Skype?

yes you need to buy camera from panasonic for using skype.
viera cast is now old and abondoned project by panasonic,within 6 months of its launch last year it has been replaced by viera connect which is not backward compatible with viera cast.
so your viera cast is like dead end and will never see any updates unlike viera connect.

dont keep hope much on extra perks offered by the tv like format support, viera cast etc. my suggestion would be to go for a good media player to fill in the gap. a tv is supposed to giv good PQ and everything else is forgivable and thats where pana shines

Hi,
I have a bsnl broad band. I am getting you tube in viera tools. You tube Vedeo streaming is excellent. Weather channel also i configured.
But there is no bigflix.

Hi Shiva,
I downloaded tvmobili software (free) & could make my desktop hard drive as media server. Through viera tools I could access my multi media. It does not play rm files but other mp 3 files it is playing. For vedeo it is playing only mpeg 2. I downloaded Any vedeo converter (again free software) and converted my mpeg 4 to mpeg 2 files and I could play the converted vedeo in the tv. Conversion from mpeg 4 to mpeg 2 is slow. Looking for a fast converter.

Yesterday (27th Sep 2011) Panasonic has updated viera apps on TH 32D25D model. Now I am getting bigflix, shoutcast, games & lots of vedeos.

On v20D series I got viera connect market, but the same problem with skype still remains as mentioned by OP. I tried connecting my PS# Eye Camera but not recognized.
