ViewSonic has officially introduced its XG2737 gaming monitor, a 27-inch screen with a 520Hz refresh rate—one of the highest available for consumer displays. However, the monitor’s focus on speed comes with a trade-off: it maxes out at Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution. However, it is not yet on the market, and its price has not been disclosed.
The monitor uses an IPS panel, covering 99% of the sRGB color space and reaching 400 nits brightness—sufficient for everyday gaming or media use. However, its 1,000:1 contrast ratio and 6-bit + FRC color depth may not meet the needs of creative professionals or those seeking advanced HDR performance.
For connectivity, the XG2737 includes two HDMI 2.1 ports, one DisplayPort, and a USB hub with two Type-A ports. The absence of a KVM switch (used to manage multiple devices) might be a drawback for streamers. Basic features like 2W speakers, a 3.5mm headphone jack, an adjustable stand, and VESA mounting support are included.
