A new thread, to recommend vinyl that is available new online (anywhere), as distinct from titles that one has no option but to find used, on eBay, Discogs, etc.

For many years I'd been on the look-out for a used copy of the eponymous Judee Sill album, released in 1971. The 'net brought out the fact that it had become a bit of a cult item, having sold in minuscule quantities at the time of its original release, and now selling for $100+ on eBay. The same fate befell its follow-up "Heart Food' released in 1973. Her life thereafter took a tragic path, and she died young. Both albums have since been re-issued by the ' 4 Men with Beards' label on 180 gm vinyl, with original gatefold covers, and are available on Flipkart:

Judee Sill -: Flipkart.com

Heart Food -: Flipkart.com

I've picked up both recently, and they're excellent pressings, with very quiet vinyl. Quirky songwriting, quite different from your standard early 70s singer-songwriter stuff, and also with amazingly clean recording quality. Strongly recommended.

PS. Ignore the errors in flipkart's database. Their search engine has become totally muddled up.

I've heard not so great things about 4 Men With Beards. I have a couple of releases on that label, but they have been ok for me. The Big Star 3rd album they released sounds quite good to my ears.

A few great sounding ones you can buy on Flipkart are some of the MFSL releases (Beck's Sea Change stands out). From an Indie Rock perspective there are numerous releases available on FK that are quite good, some of them recorded analog also. Some nice sounding ones you should be able to find on FK:

1) Bill Callahan - Dream River
2) Joanna Newsom - YS
3) Queens of the Stone Age - Like Clockwork
4) Phish - Junta (one of the best sounding vinyl releases ever)
5) Steven Wilson -The Raven that Refused to Sing

This is just a quick list, there are many many more, but these are readily available and sound great. Make sure you search by album name and not artist name.
