Want stylus guared for shure m44-7

Mate, not something you will get locally. I suggest you try the international sites.

If one of us has a used/old/damaged stylus from an M44-7 lying around - he could use it. I would have sent him one if i hadn't thrown it away during a relocation last year - he's looking for something like that i guess. Shure won't sell the stylus guard alone

other alternative is to buy a new N44-7 and use the guard off that and keep the other stylus as a backup for when this one gets used. Its price is going to go up only so its a good investment if you listen a lot

How is it different from the stock N44-7 stylus? Or is it the same?

I recall FM's from Delhi and Bombay had gotten better pricing from local distributors. You might want to check with them

The Shure dealer in Mumbai Mr. JD is selling the entire M44-7 cart (including stylus) for around Rs. 3,900 plus tax. I think, the tax is around 5.5%. Only stylus is available for Around 1,700.

The crazy Amazon pricing is because it's not from a local seller

Stylus guard is not a critical part of your stylus hence you can even try the guard from other Shure stylii. Just ensure that it does not knock the stylus during application. If anyone has worn Shure stylii, they can probably part with the stylus guard. Just ensure that you re-calibrate your tonearm (VTF and anti-skate) after adding the stylus guard.
