i have an LG LCD with an optical and HDMI output. There are only 2 Home theatre system, sonyDZ510 and Panasonic that have an optical input. My friends say that sony's DVD dont play every CD and DVD like how philips does and the sound of panasonic, the salesman says is not so good.

Just want to ask

1. Can i buy a not so expensive amplifier ( a 2 or 5 channel ) with an optical input and use it to play the tv audio? kindly suggest one. i am staying in mumbai. I can buy separate philips DVD and speakers

2. or shud i buy the sony or panasonic.

3. Or the experts have another solution.

thanks. i have been scratching my head for past the past one month but no solutions.

Hai mate,
As per ur requirements U can think about Logitech Z5500. It has FIVE different connectivity options. Two Digital (Coaxial & Optical) and Three analog output through which U can connect five different gazettes at a time and can control by a remote player.

I am using it, it's really great.
