Want to use Same DAV-DZ370 5.1 Speaker in other system.

Hi ,

I have Sony DAV-DZ370 5.1 home theater system; I have been using this from last 3-4 years.
My DVD Player is not working (due to power push issue):sad: and Sony is charging hepatic amount (~7K) but no issue in Speakers:indifferent14:.

I want to use existing speaker & dont want to go with entire new setup.
Is that possible to use same speaker into some other 5.1 Channel player/ home theater?

Please suggest.

This is the exact reason why htibs with integrated dvd or blu-ray players are not recommended in this forum. If you know electronics, you can try to use the amp section.

I got your ans , there is no alternative of this . I have to use amp or to buy new setup .. :sad:

you can diy use the amp section and connect a dvd players 6 different analouge channels...if confident enough to do this...otherwise only speakers can be used with a avr or a simillar htib's dvd+amp

Hi, I also have Sony GNZ9D 5.1 system and the player is giving me some problem. I want to replace the player but not the speakers so can anyone suggest whether I can attach those old sony speakers to Denon1612 AVR or not. Speakers are 7 years old and the specifications for speakers is (115Wx2 + 50Wx3 +170W). I think Surround is 50W, Front 115W & Subwoofer is 170.Please suggest.

First look for the impedence of the speakers. If it is 6 ohms or more, you can use it with Denon AVR safely. Even if it is 4 ohms, you can use it but do not increase the volume above a safe limit. Is the subwoofer an active one?

Normally the Sony speakers impedence is different. I have the MHC series Sony hifi system of which the front L & R speakers have the 6 ohms and the surround has some 25 ohms impedence. So I used only the 6 ohms speakers to connect to my yamaha 571 receiver and did not use the surround speakers. You can check the impedence rating at the back of the speakers.
