Hi friends,

The local Wharfedale distributor in Bangkok is clearing stocks for brand new pairs of Diamond 9.4, 9.5 and 9.6 at prices THB 9900, 11500, 14000 respectively. These are promotional prices (55-60% off listed prices). They have limited pairs left until stocks last (Beech, Walnut).

I am considering the 9.5 at THB 11500 (VFM) in Beech to go with Marantz PM7001+CD5001. Any suggestion since this will be used purely for 2ch music.

P.S. Don't tell my home minister, or else she will throw me out of my own house :lol::lol:

Ravin, Are all of these box packed (sealed). also, What is the landing cost in Delhi, India, not sure if we can participate in this loot.... :D

Hi Kittu,

I agree with you that 9.6 is good but I want to avoid using the 8" woofers because it retracts slower than 6.5" woofers.

I previously had 9.2 >>> sold it after 7 months >>> then bought 9.3 >>> sold it again after 8-9 months.

The 9.3 was good for easy listening music and soft rock, but too laid back for the likes of David Guetta, Armin Van Buuren, etc.

I can't really tell how long the new wharfedales will last at my place.

how do the Wharfedales perform ,,, in terms of music as well as movies..
while using thhe 9.2 s withh an amp,,, did u use to get ample bass?? nd tonality.....??
please help... as I am planning to buy the WD 9.5 s

These are brand new pairs in sealed boxes. I wouldn't know the landed costs as I have no information on freight charges or Customs duty.

Prices for wharfedales in India are comparable if you calculate the rate of exchange as 1 Rupee = 0.55 Baht.

Ravin....I guess u hav used Mezzos also,,,which shd be similar to Avianos in terms of sound signature....
so can u please share yr experience with the WD DIAMOND 9 vs MS-MEZZO... which wd be better for listening to hinddi songs, and moviies too... lets say which sounds better with ''4 baj gaye lekin party abhi baaki haii''''' .lol

This is a very good deal for folks back there in BKK or Thailand. For 9.5 11,500 Bhat is coming to 17K and in India we are getting it for 27K.

The 9.2 diamonds has good tight bass and within control, warm and matured midtones and vocals, treble smooth and not ear piercing. For me it still lacked the clarity that I was getting with the MS Avant 902i which was connected side by side.

With the right speaker cables, things can change....

If you want to play your music and movies at "4 baj gaye lekin party abhi baaki haii" then you need to consider the Wharfy. They can still take good beating and produce heart throbbing bass.

@ imgene
There're clearing stocks of discontinued range. Even if you buy at this price and use it for a couple of months or even a year, the depreciating would be 25%, which is acceptable.
By then, prices of Diamond 10 series would have come down.

Finally, the Wharfedale Diamond 9.5 has found a new owner.

Its been stripped off its packaging and bi-wired to Marantz PM7001 and NAD 515BEE. My first track from Scorpions "Still Loving You" is keeping the Di9.5 pretty nervous......it will probably shun its shy image after a few hours.

More updates later next week.

A beautiful, well-constructed speaker with class-leading soundstage, imaging and bass that is fast, deep, and precise.
