Wharfedale Dovedale

Yes it is.
Prices went north with the launch of the Mission 770, seen here in the background. 3500 gbp, also designed by Peter Comeau and built in the UK.

Oh, and in case you find the Dovedale too pedestrian, here’s another option. A mere 33,000 euros. Wonder why everyone is going after the Tannoy look.
I remember reading somewhere that this look was made popular by Wharfedale in the 30's. Tannoy followed later.

To be honest, if I was looking at spending in excess of five big ones, I’d be looking at something like the Audio Note AN-Es. 97.5db sensitivity can come in handy if you’re a fan of SETs.

Yep. The ANJs are also really nice especially if your room isnt perfect. The ANEs need a certain size of room and need corner placement to work well. If the room loading is locked in right, the magic is breathtaking.

Very true. The bass from the Es in a smaller room can shake your fillings loose.
I haven’t heard the Js. Going by your experience, they sound more forgiving with placement.
