Hi, Im currently doing a budget benchmark for my new HiFi system .

Just thinking, if I go separate, AVR + speakers, etc way , what else do I need to buy ?

The AVR comes with additional HDMI cords or do we need to buy them ?
The speakers come with their own cords to connect to AVR or we need to buy them ?
Do we need a UPS ?
Do we need a carpet ? What type ?

So, what else do we need ?

1) Most of the AVRs do not come with HDMI chords. You may need to buy them additionally
2) Invest on some reasonably good speaker wires
3) UPS is better investment to protect the devices from abrupt power failure and power fluctuation
4) Adding carpet is good if the room is dedicated for AV experience. If AV setup is going to be in the living room, you need to find if it is practical to have carpet in the living room

Your query is very generic. Add more details like, room size, usage ratio (movies/music/games), equipments already owned and identified if any. Most important, the budget.

1. Ah bad.
2. Speakers dont come with their own wire sets ?
3. Will get an UPS, not a problem.
4. 20 x 12 room size , but packed with bed and wardrobe and white walls with wallpaper on it. Almost no sound leakage, as its well packed.

Most of the speakers come with wires, which may not be of good quality. For the room size 20x12 assuming 20 is the length, most of the box-shipped wires wont be sufficient in length(for rear speakers). So there will be need to buy wires for rear speakers (assuming it is 5.1 system). And if wires are changed for rear speakers, it is better to have similar wire for all speakers and there will be anyway need to buy speaker cables.

My HiFi setup with TV is just 6 x 12 sq ft area .

others are being used as my living room items ;)

APC, Emerson Liebert etc. are the known manufacturers of online ups. The wattage depends on the devices you want to connect to the ups. IMO, you will need atleast a 2KVA one and it may cross 30K range.

1500 ups! Looking for stereo setup or personal computer? It is better to use direct supply than to include noisy ups in the chain.
Whats your current setup? Whats will be your separates? What is overall budget?

Just in case, there is a power failure, the equipments dont go BOOM OFF instantly.

UPS can handle for 5-10 minutes, so I can switch off fine.
