What are the brands that manufacture LCD/LED/Plasma TV in India ?

Just out of curiosity wanted to know who are the brands that manufacture LCD/LED/Plasma TV in India? Most of the companies, import products from other Asian countries (Mostly Thailand). Hence we pay 30 - 40% more than others in the world.

I hope Videocon is one who produce LCD's in India. Can someone shed light on this.

I know for sure that LG has a huge factory at Ranjangaon, near Pune. They manufacture LCD/LED TV's here. The base panels are imported and so are many components. The assembly happens in this plant.

I believe that same situation applies to Samsung, Sony and Panasonic.

I say that panels are not manufactured in India as yet. But I could be wrong.

ok. I think there is an other Indian brand called VU. Not sure how many would have heard of this name. Guess, they too produce LCD/LED in India.

The major brands that are assembled in india are LG an samsung(the lcd panel is still imported).

Sony ,panasonic,sharp,philips lcd tvs are a direct import.

VU is a brand created by Zenith and mostly sold at Croma.

and I saw a 55 inch Vu at Croma six months back for 90K..frankly it didnt seem any bad or worse than the adjacent models from Samsung and Sony.

I believe both Videocon and Onida both manufacture locally.

I don't think any of the panels or boards are manufactured locally. Most TVs may only be assembled locally.

The Panasonic plasma I have was manufactured in Thailand.
