Your wishlist is impressive and fancy. The more you invest the fancier it gets.
What is you exact budget? Assuming you have a budget upto 1 Lac these are the recommendations.
The Samsung Plasma Series 5 F5500 51inch Plasma is the all rounder if you need a bigger screen at a reasonable price.
Otherwise blindly go for LEDs from SAMSUNG, SONY, LG at 90K plus budget for a superb picture quality and feature set that you need.

Some suggested Models. (Choose Screen size as you need)
SAMSUNG Series 6.....6400, 6800
SAMSUNG Series 7
SAMSUNG Series 8

LG ....Series 6900 and upper

SONY W700, W800, W900/950

LED vs Plasma - you wanted an LED (you mentioned that as your wish) so go for it. LEDs gives very good pictures if you like bright, else Plasma is better.

Contrast ratio ?? Depends again on the above
Backlit- thicker, better viewing angle and better picture and costlier than ultra thin -edge lit
Resolution HD - Go for full HD, better 4K (the next thing coming but they are very costly and very few models to choose from)
refresh rate 60/ 120 Hz ???? more the merrier
Audio Dolby DTS: 5.1 audio -Yes

Inputs HDMI, USB Total No of ports, location of ports for usb,...
USB playback formats - again more the merrier for each, Minimum 3 HDMI, 1 USB

DLNA Compliant??? Yes but not essential

Smart TV- Wifi or ethernet connectivity -not essential but almost all big TVs comes with these by default

Warranty more the merrier

Its just the features I have listed,

I just wanted to check the utility or applicability of these features... or are these just some fancy names or are they really required???

Hi Navin,
For lots of features and a decent PQ stick to samsung (say samsung 40f6400 at around 60k).
But if you prioritize PQ then sony (42w650) is the way to go.
A very common saying- 'features turn boring within a few days of usage while PQ is perpetual'. My choice is always PQ.

I will go with 42W650 (if I were you). The features has no meaning as many things can be managed through a BDP, which is essential if you like to watch good quality movies (cost from 5K onwards). Else you can always buy a media player (about 4K and upwards). But anyway, 42W650 is a smart TV, and hence these may not be needed. I think the only big screen TV (from the big 3) without Smart feature as of now is 50S60 (plasma) from Pana.

right,The features has no meaning as many things can be managed through a BDP.

Your primary focus should be picture quality. You need to shortlist a few models and then go and demo all of them. Make sure you look at HD and SD on all the tv's. Most tv's will play HD really well, but SD is a different game. It all depends on the video processing of each tv. So spend some time and do not be in a rush.

Plasma will give you the BEST price vs performance. However they work really well in low light. LEDs will look better in bright light. But an entry level plasma will always perform better than an entry level LED.

In 60k the only plasma I can think of is Samsung 51F4900..........a very basic entry level plasma tv. In LED you will have more option but will have to settle for a smaller size.
