Hi All,

What would be a genuine price for buying any AVR in India...Letz forget the Dollars, Euros, Dhirams & other foreign currency for a while...

I paid 45K for my Onkyo TX NR 818 in Kuwait compared to the retail price of 95K in India.. And i felt that i paid a genuine price for my AVR fir the features it offers....

If you had bought an AVR, how much do you think it should have been a priced....(or) a fair price....

your avr in USD cost around 800 USD at present which is around 54K INR in today's date. It is surprising the price difference being so much and I cannot deny that for AVRs in general this difference may be uniform due to import taxes and regulations. However this is not true for A/V products, say for example My speaker pair Aviano six costed 500INR less than the equivalent GBP price in amazon UK during the time it was purchased.

I was planning to buy Marantz SR5008 from Hong Kong during my visit there in coming week. It's yet to be launched in India. Will it make sense in terms of price, warranty etc. Any suggestion for a good shop near Mangkok to pickup one. Thanks

This would be a good place to start:
Global Audio & Visual
16th Floor, Yau Shing Commercial Centre, No. 51 Sai Yeung Choi Street, Kowloon, HK Tel.: 2789 1733
I bought the CR503 from here.
There are more AV dealers in the same building. It is right next to the MTR.

Hong Kong dealer list is available on Marantz website.
Hong Kong prices are good, much lower that Singapore.

I bought my AVR 6 months back.. Then the dollar price was 55 rupees....

You are probably lucky because you picked your speakers before the price revision :ohyeah: that how it would cost less than the international price..

Ok.. Let me start from the entry level AVR....

Yamah/Denon/Onkyo - resonable price for these AVR is 15 - 20K.... But i see that the entry level AVR starts from 25K only.... so 10K in excess

Have anyone thought about Astonia Audio stereo amplifier SC300 being sold @ 4,500 Rs here :ohyeah:

Few examples like these.....

Sure Indian prices are high. How much? But what do you think is the fair price for an AVR that you should have paid ?

Hi guys,

If I buy a AVR/Projector from Hong Kong, should I go through the Red Channel and pay the duties? How much is the duty on AVR/Projector?

Cheers!
