What to buy from Dubai

Most electronics cost lesser in UAE than India & you have a wide choice! Visit Sharaf DG & Emax. Which are one stop shops for the products queried by you.
Also visit hi Fi City for av receivers/blu ray players, etc.
Google their names for their locations.

Petrol. I have heard it's much cheaper there! :lol:

HDDs is a good idea. If you need an amp, you can save quite a bit of money on that, if you buy expensive one.

Man I wish I could get atleast one gallon petrol from there. Thanks for reminding though. I will check with Mr. Singh if he will oblige.

I would suggest you get some electronics that would otherwise be difficult to get in India.
Look at amplifiers because there will be a wide range to audition and choose from.

How much is the price difference of any AVR(Examples Denon 1713 or Denon X1000) in Dubai and the same product in India? Is customs duty applicable for AVR when bringing to India? If yes, how much?

Some of the deals available right here on HIFIVISION are great. If you are patient you will find something that would be a much better deal than in Dubai esp. the high end stuff.

I had the trip planned a month ago but due to some reasons it didn't materalize so I planned it during DSF. It's kind of rescheduling. It's not like I'm going there only for the deals.

I was wondering if anyways I'm going there if there is anything worth getting.

Dubai Shopping Festival is starting on 2nd Jan 14. The DSF prices will be less than current prices. Wait till the festival starts to get information about offers

I think NAD Amplifiers are very reasonably priced in Dubai, Abt one year back one friend of mine bought NAD AMP and CD Player from Dubai Mall during Thanks giving period. I think he just paid some 30k for NAD 356 bee, not sure the price now after depreciation in Rupee.

Check for any promotions at Dubai Audio - off Sheikh Zyed rd after the 1st Interchange. it is immediately in the service lane adjascent to the Sheikh Zyed rd.

This is for shopping slightly high end audio eqpt but sometimes you do get good bargains on Naim, Nad, Rotel, Infinity, Deftec etc.

Guys checked out Blu Ray player and external HDD at both Mall of Emirates and Dubai mall both places they are expensive.
Any suggestions.
