Some of you may be heard about "Iwai "speakers, manufactured in India, I've their 10" Sub woofer, with power handling capacity 200 watts RMS, it's coil diameter is 50mm, height 32 mm,
But I'm confused[emoji15] [emoji47] why some Subs with above 250 watts rating have small sized coils for example 35mm, 40mm etc ,?
I'll be very grateful if some of you explain the relation between Coil size and power handling capacity of subs.

Magnet size 5.2"(diameter)
Three Layer magnet,height -4.5 inches
Weight 7.0 kg (Apx)

10" driver with a 2" VC isn't that bad. The B&W 801 driver with 12" cone is just about 52mm and that is an awesome woofer.
The Dynaudio 8" MW170 (I think) has a 3" voice coil.
That in itself isn't that odd, but the next one down is a 5.25" cone with a 3" VC. That positively looks retarded.
Cool.
Srinath.
