I am looking for protection for my AV equipment. Need the following protection.

Automatic protection against: Low, High voltage, spikes and surges
Intelligent time delay, protection against power back surges

I came across the below product from UK which meets all my requirements.

A/C Guard - Sollatek

I am not looking for Voltage Stabilization or UPS. Basically I need a low cost protection option. Is a similar product available in India.

Thanks

No responses!

I will rephrase my query. Where can I get a device for placing in between my AV Equipment which protects the equipment from Low and High Voltages (Cuts out) and also provides surge protection.A timer based cut in will be a great additional feature though not essential.

I know that Belkin power strip protects from Surges and Spikes - but does not provide Voltage protection. Most Voltage stabilizer will have built in Voltage cut outs and surge protection - but I am not looking for Voltage correction only protection at a cheaper price!

Flipkart has Sollatek's products. You can also try their dealer list at :: Sollatek - Our Network ::

Though it is very inefficient one, the cheapest available product is CVT. I wont recommend it for home theater stuff but for audio I personally feels that it is best. Others may have different opinion on this. But before buying check whether CVT has sinewave qualities.

Thanks for Suggesting a CVT. I have Zero knowledge of CVTs.

Can you suggest some good brands?

Also could you please elaborate on your recommendation "suitable for Audio but not home theater". I understand that a full fledged power conditioner is recommended.

But in a situation of no protection at all, wont a CVT be a good idea even for all the HT equipment ?

Yes, it is good for both, there are certain advantages and disadvantages related to CVT. The biggest disadvantage is humming noise, which is quiet evident inside the room, so keep it outside the listening room.secondly it is inefficient in comparison to UPS or stabilizer. There are few companies which makes good sine wave CVTs.So search on net. I bought ELLENT CVT. There may be good CVTs available in India but i could find only this brand available to me nearby.Search in this forum, you may find better CVTs.

Thanks for the tip on humming noise. If its to be kept in a remote location do you keep it on continuously? What about no load losses in such a case. I read some where that a CVT is only 90% efficient. I am OK with it as my usage is low.
