friends please suggest where to buy Blu ray disks .I know flipcart-surely a good website with some discount ,but sadly most of the titles am looking for are out of stock.any good websites please share
You can check out in Amazon.uk as they currently have some free shipping offers....but depends on luck whether customs wil be leived here, but it wil surely work out cheaper then purchasing blue ray in India
Purchasing from amazon UK is the best cost effective way, with free shipping offered upto September 30. If you are lucky you may be exempted from customs duty also. Even with customs duty the price is well under that offered by Indian sellers. However you should place order for atleast 25GBP. You could also try Pop Window

How is it a cost effective way? All the DVDs and Blu ray DVDs are more expensive than what is available on say Flipkart. For Eg: RIO Blu ray + DVD costs Rs1133 on Amazon where as its just 1039 on FK.

May be true. But for most blu-ray disks, amazon UK is the best option. They have huge collection of BR Disks. The LOTR extended version retails for Rs.5K in flipkart where as I bought it from amazon UK for 2.8K. It is region B though.

This is what called as sharing partial information. There are thousand other titles in Amazon UK which can be termed as dirt cheap compared to Indian price. I'll just give two examples,
LOTR-EE is 42GBP i.e. and after deducting VAT it'll be approx 2.8k in amazon UK. Whereas Flipkart price is 5.1k
Clint Eastwood director's collection Blu-ray is 15.97GBP i.e. and after deducting the it would be approx 1050Rs. whereas in Flipkart the DVD (yes DVD not Blu-ray) collection itself is 1030Rs (and missing one movie - Gran Torino, than the BD collection)..
Gladiator is 8.9 GBP and would be around 605Rs after VAT deduction but in India the price is 1699Rs for the remastered version.
So what are we talking about? Just one off examples of Rio won't be a correct example to give I feel. Yes there are few movies which might be now at the same price point but they are very few.
(Note: Flipkart is awesome and I love their service. And many times they are the cheapest when you compare Indian price. But comparing them to UK price is not fair. I've just given these examples to put some facts)
Disadvantage of buying from Amazon UK is that you'll have to wait for almost a month(2-3 weeks for sure) to receive your parcel and if you are not careful you might end buying region-locked discs for Region B. Other then that Amazon does make more sense when it comes to save some bucks.
Regards,
Actually even the example you took of Rio is factually incorrect. The Blu ray plus DVD combo is 12.5 GBP after removing tax which is 939 Rs. so a 100 bucks cheaper than flipkart.
The 3d blu ray + DVD is costlier in amazon uk but I didnt find it in Flipkart.
Couldnt agree more with the two previous posts! The brand new ones maybe a bit pricey on amazon uk but they are right now the best way to buy your Blu ray discs online. If you are lucky u can get away with customs. That makes it a steal in most cases. I have noticed that usually packages passing thro chennai customs get the free treatment more often than from other ports of entry. Just a thought.
