I am looking to buy a used handycam for around Rs 5000. I would prefer to buy a Sony with a Zeiss Vario-Sonnar lens of around 50x optical zoom.

I am confused by the plethora of models on sale on olx.in. These record on various types of storage media - cassettes, CDs, memory sticks etc. Some of these media are obsolescent. Which model should I buy?

If you are interested in used stuff, try to get sony with HDD.
Sony is / was standard and popular in handycam era although many other brands also had nice offerings. But most chances are you will get accessories like battery / charger quite easily compared to other brands locally. In fact Handycam is a sony product where others are called generic camcorders.

If you get older cassettes, you will have hard time to convert them to digital for future.
Disc recorders were bigger and prone to fail due to form factors and memory stick were having space limitations.

Look for SR47/ SR67 series if you not interested in HD yet. Had good capacity and 60X optical zoom. Not sure the used price.

A beautiful, well-constructed speaker with class-leading soundstage, imaging and bass that is fast, deep, and precise.
