Hi all,

I want to go for 5.1 AVR. But I am confused in six brands Yamaha / Denon / harman kardon / marantz / pioneer. Which one give me real professional quality sound output? but my budget is 40K for 5.1 AVR.

regards,
Nimish

All the 5 brands you have listed have their strengths and weaknesses.
It depends on your intended usage movies or music.

In your price range,
Yamaha/Pioneer/HK lean more towards movies
Denon is a toss-up
Marantz is more towards music; but does a decent job for movies

Each will have a distinct sound signature. Audition and then decide (preferably with speakers you have or intend to buy).

I have 2 Marantz units (one AVR and one IntegAmp). Personally, I like Marantz sound signature. Have listened to all of the above brands at some point during the last 5 years.
Stick your budget and you will be able to find something you like. Mumbai has many places you can audition.

Cheers,
Raghu

Hi,

Since you are based in Mumbai, there are a lot of dealers where you can go and audition systems...carry your music...I used most of the brands mentioned by you over the last 13 years and now currently hooked on marantz...depending on your requirements and budget, decide wisely...if you are open to pre owned, see the for sale by owner section or hi fi ads...there are good avrs on sale....

Lots of options available in Mumbai, spend some time on demos & then decide what suits your ears & comes in your budget :D

contact Avenue Sound or Warehouse Direct

Hi Nimish

You can look at the Marantz NR 1506 sold by M Z Audio at Bandra....guess you may get it at a good rate....

Audition as much as you can and decide.....if budget is an issue, some forum members would be selling good AVRs (pre owned), you may just get lucky...

Purchase the Audiolab 6000A Integrated Amplifier at a special offer price.
