Hi everyone, I am searching for a used AVR to replace my current setup. I have found these 2 models in the same price range: Pioneer SC-LX58-K and Denon AVR-X4300H. Anyone is using any of these models, and I am confused about which one to choose.
I need your valuable suggestions and tips.

Thank you.
Vishnu

What is your requirement -
How many channels? Do you plan to expand in the future?
How many woofers?
What kind of speakers?
What kind of room?

My requirement is 11 channels. My room is already pre-wired for 7.2.4 configuration. currently using focal aria speakers on the front section. rest of the channels at the moment decent satellite speakers but planning to upgrade later on. Room dimension: 20' × 10 × 9' with a slightly acoustically treated.

Both are Flagship AVRs, compare specs, features and tech details and take a call.

Denon is more movie focused. Pioneer is an equal balance for movies and music.

Which AVR did you use in the past?

Ok check the tech specs and features of these 2 AVRs and see if they meet your requirements and are able to handle the current formats for movies / music of today. If yes then decide between the 2.

AVRs usually come out with newer models to handle the latest content / codecs features of today. Most of us end up updating the AVR to the most latest versions or based on actual use of the requirements and features.

I still have a doubt that this particular Pioneer model has Dirac support. If yes, then I will choose Pioneer.

This does not have DIRAC https://intl.pioneer-audiovisual.com/products/av_receiver/sc-lx58/specification.php

If you want AVR with DIRAC then possibly Onkyo RX Z50 will do justice.

Here is one of the Pioneer models which has DIRAC live

Honestly, those are two very good AVR's. The main difference being that the Denon is the newer model, between the two. Between two very old AVR's, I'd pick the more recent one, which is the Denon. It will be a bit more up to date as far as its software goes. Though not by much.

I really doubt that as this level if you will notice any big sonic differences between the two. There is so much customization available on them.

Critically, make sure they work well before you put down any money. I would not purchase without checking them out in person.

They both are in perfect condition. Only the pioneer has a minimal scratch on the top that is not even visible. Denon looks brand new with all original accessories and original box. I am also thinking of going with Denon but still looking for a newer model if I can find one. thank you all for your suggestions.

here is the picture of denon.

With the news of Denons bricking woth ota updates and service centers taking time to repair and not the so-nice attitude, I would skip denon and marantz. Pioneer or onkyo seem to be the way to go.

You cannot expect cosmetic perfection. A few scratches here and there can be expected. As long as they are fully functional, you have nothing to worry about. If you are concerned about software updates, then don't update the receiver. That said, don't over pay for either of these. They are old units after all.

Like I said earlier, these are two top tier AV receivers from their time. You can't go wrong with either.

I use a Denon from a similar year as the 4300H. Does everything I need it to do.
