Why don't Vizio and Hisense sell TVs in India?

Hi sense = Vu

Vizio is not even available in UK forget about India

The Hisense TVs (H10 series) launched in USA are QLED with HDR and 240 zone local dimming at an affordable price. I don't think Vu offers anything comparable to that.

Vizio, I don't understand. They can gain so much in India given their price points and quality.

Isn't Micromax and VU offering LED TV's prices comparable to the US brands?

I believe Vizio is specific to US market only..

I want to add one. This brand is very popular in India. It's Xiaomi. Recently, Xiaomi launched its 4K and FHD models in China.

Unfortunately, Xiaomi has no plan to launch its TVs in India soon. Xiaomi uses Samsung panels on its 4K curved TVs; and unconfirmed report says that Xiaomi has a pact with Samsung, and as per the pact Xiaomi would not launch its TVs in India soon as it's understandable that Xiaomi's affordable TVs would hurt Samsung's business interest in India.

Hisense TVs are available on Shopclues
hisense - Shopclues online shopping , but these are imports mainly from Middle East and are not authorized by Hisense. One can presume that Hisense has an agreement with VU. Hisense produces affordable, yet quality stuffs but to them India seems to be a dumping ground for their outdated models. In US and ME, Hisense is selling 120/240 Hz refresh rate TVs but India, re-badged Hisense (read VU) 60Hz models are being sold.:mad::mad:

How many people would go and buy 4k HDR in India ? They need market to be tapped which they are achieving with low end models of thiers

A market needs to be created for this. 4k HDR Bluray has launched. While it won't have as huge an impact as it had in the US, India is definitely warming up to this, or the Indians will use torrent sites to access the BDRips. Now, if a 4k HDR TV by Samsung/LG/Sony, with decent upscaling, is priced right (65" 4k HDR entry model priced at ~1.5 lakhs), there could be customers. Vu has priced one at 1.2 lakhs (don't think it has HDR though and I have heard that the upscaling is next to none).

There is money in India (small % of people but the population is large). But those people need to be educated on new features. The only issue is that these people are also price insensitive. So, they won't mind paying an inflated price of 3.3 lakhs for such TVs. Meanwhile, LG/Samsung/Sony continue to subsidize TVs through price cuts in US, etc. at the cost of sales in other countries such as India.

It's the premium segment where Sony/Samsung/LG can win in the longer run. In the budget segment, they will eventually lose out to Vu/Micromax, etc. as the latter continue to improve the quality of their offerings.

Problem is bandwith in India, place where people call Yify ripsl HD quality can't have much progression.

Most people are just happy with poorly encoded 1080p just because it's hd it would take time but definitely not now
