Philips speaker will be compatible to Yamaha rx-v381 receiver?

Hi All,

Now the new doubt has been raised on me regarding home theater, I have a philips speaker system with (260W RMS with 4ohms + 325WRMS with 6 ohms + 60w subwoofer) 3300watt pmpo

Now I am planning to buy a Yamaha receiver for my home 5.1 sound system. So I just want to know the speakers which I am already having will be compatible to Yamaha rx-381 or to any other receiver?

To My knowledge it can't...But thought to get guidance from experts....

Thanks

Hi

Speakers will work with the avr or amp....if you want none of them to over heat and blow up...read the technical page and match the watts (output) along with impedance (ohms).

Yamaha AVR runs from 6 ohms onwards....if budget is an issue....look for pre owned speakers available on olx etc......

The speaker rated watts should be higher than the max per channel output of the amp/receiver you are planning to buy and the impedance (ohms) of your speaker must also be supported by your amp/receiver. Please check the output specifications of the Yamaha receiver in its manual (will be available online) to decide if you can match any of your available speakers. It is NOT recommended to pair them if the impedance and watts are outside of the receiver specifications.

Cheers!
