Would compatibility of sony blu ray player with LCD TV matter?

I have a Sony BDP S370B. I am thinking about buying a 32" LCD TV soon.

Would it be a better idea to get a Sony LCD only to enhance features when sony BDP is coupled with it?

OR

The TV brand would not even matter? Because if it doesn't matter then I can avoid the extra premium that Sony usually demands for the brand.

I dont think it will matter. You will be connecting it via HDMI. Until and unless you are planning to buy a 3D TV it will not matter whether the TV is of a different brand.

You can use other brand lcds with your current BD player. Options like bravia sync are not that important.

I can go for other brands now and preferably budget ones. I will be starting new thread on LCD TV soon.
