Hi All,

I recently bought Xbox One S. I connected this to my TV through HDMI to get 4k video. Now I want to listen sound from Yamaha AVR. How is it possible without optical cable?

My TV and AVR both have HDMI ARC ports. Please help.

If you have enabled arc then the TV sound should come in avr. But why are you not connecting Xbox to avr and then hdmi out to TV? That is the best connection you can have.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I tried this but no use.

Yamaha 3067 supports only 4k @30hz only. Initially, I connected Xbox to AVR but I didnt see 4k display on tv while playing UHD movie disc.

Xbox not allowing me to select 4k output resolution when I connected to AVR

@babu82

From where did you buy Xbox One S? Is it official sources? How much cost?

I am also interested in Xbox One S due to its 4k Bluray Capability.

Bought it from ebay @22k

Yes I have also seen the Ebay listings @22.5k by some bberry.stores seller. I am skeptical if he sells genuine XBox, its without manufacturer warranty, only one month seller warranty.

I need to know if this imported Xbox One S is having any voltage issue. 120V vs 240V and which all discs it can play, I am not at all interested in gaming, intend to use only for multimedia.

So far, I dont have any significant problems with this.

But while accessing Netflix, I am getting an error message like "Netflix for TV not available for your country".

I am able to see Amazon prime videos with 5.1 sound.

Max resolution for Youtube app is 1080p only.

What about disc playability--My Only Concern! Which discs does it play. I read it somewhere only games are region free, bluray movies disks are Region A (US) specific only. Is it true?

Netflix, Youtube, Amazon Prime Video all being taken care by my Himedia Q10 Pro. I am least concerned whether these apps run there or not.

I bought 1 game, 1 blu-ray, and 1 uhd blue-ray disc from amazon.in recently. Xbox playing all these without any problem.

Hi have you tried connecting External 2Tb HDD through USB 3 port to your Xbox one s? can you help me find out if it reads 4k HDR 10 bit files with out any issue,
by the way which TV are you using?

I am using TCL 55 inch 4k tv (LP155US).

I tried with 1tb HDD. Media Player app and VLC unable to play few files.

Also unable to decode Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD MA audio formats from usb videos. However there no problem with blu ray discs.

I am able to play GTA5 in 4k@60HZ resolution, when xbox connected to tv.

Well that sounds bad, check if for the latest software update for your console that might help, even i was planning for one now i am little skeptical, i am not a gaming freak but i wanted a 4k player since we don't have one in India.

I can play all videos from HDD with my android tv box. So that is not a problem for me.

I got what I was looking for so I am happy with this console.:)
