Yamaha AS 500/ Marantz PM 6002/ Cambridge Audio Azur 550A

I have not heard AS500. I own pm 6002 & I am happy with it. I would rate it over Cambridge Audio. But where are you getting 6002 & at what rpice? It it a discontinued model.

For Diamonds Marantz is a good choice... Diamonds being warm and marantz bwing bright will make a good combo... opposites always attract each other :) :)

I have spent 6 months with CA 650A and Polk Audio TSi300. Both products in their own respect are good budget products. Together they are bright. As I later found out, the weak link in that pairing were the Polks. Why? - In my effort to improve on this combo, I tried NAD C316BEE, Marantz PM7003 and A-S500 with Polks. Again very good products, but I didn't see much improvement in the brightness. NAD pairing was the best, Marantz a touh more musical than both CA and Yamaha, but CA has a neutral character which makes speakers sound as their true character. CA will be a good match for Wharfedale. Will allow the wharfedales to produce their natural laidback sound. For Polk look at NAD C316BEE. Although, my suggestion don't look at Polk at all in that range.

Marantz or CA. would go with the Wharf 9xx or 10xxx series .
Polk TSI series is better for movies and does not do a good job at music. Look at the RTI or Lsi instead however hey are pricier.

So stick with the Diamond 10.2 and get yourself Marantz / CA or for that matter even Norge ... Norge and diamonds pair well together

No one can tell you. It'll be mostly your room and the speakers which will dictate how it all sounds. I doubt any of those amps will be much different from one another, unless you're driving them at party(clipping) levels.

I would however suggest the Yamaha as a safer and more accurate bet. Yamaha have always been one of the very few manufacturers who know what an amp's job is.
