I would go in for denon avr-x500. But it is a very basic avr. Yamaha is also a good avr. But still i prefer denon avr compared to the yamaha. Denon also has a front hdmi input. Also its more powerful than the yamaha
Yamaha: 70W @ 6ohm,0.09% THD
Denon: 75W @ 8ohm,0.08% THD
Also it depends on what speakers you intend to pair it with. What is your budget???

Thanx for the input. Planning to pair it with polk audio tsi 300 floor standers. Budget is within 25 k for the speakers as well

denon + polk very good combo specially if you are on a budget. Even check marantz avr costly compared to denon and yamaha but if music is priority then go in for marantz. Actually the front usb absence can be fulfilled by a bluray player. I got the denon x500 for 22k and that ws a steal. i already have a pc connected to it and it serves my purpose quite well

But I think you should try an audition for some other brands as well. Because Polk speakers are better for MOVIES than MUSIC. You may take advises from other experts as well.

As a user of X500..it is a very good AVR with basic features...but if u prefer for music then better check with Marantz ..
Polk will be best suited for movies than music...
Also for music Dali Zensor 5 or 7 speakers are very good..
Try to audition n select based on ur hearing preference and budget.

Thanx a ton for the advice guys. Marantz and dali not in my budget. Pro fx guy in hyderabad told me that polk audio tsi 300 is not available. The latest range of tsx is available and the tsx 330t is about 30k, which is out of my budget. That gets me back to where i started.
I've been through yamaha, pioneer and denon avrs and pioneer, polk audio and yamaha speakers.
Planning a visit to pro fx hyd next saturday. Any ideas on a decent avr and speakers within 50k seeing my browsing history.

What's the quotation on HTR2067? There's no YPAO calibrator in that model.

I picked up Wharfedale 121s and Yamaha RXV375 (before supply would stop) around 3 months ago.

Other ones that I auditioned were
Within 50k
Denon x500 with Tannoy Mercury v4
Pioneer VSX 522 with Polk 220b
Above 50k
Marantz 5006 with Wharfedale 122s
Denon x1000 with Wharfedale 122s
Yamaha RXV3xx with Yamaha NSP50 or NS50 don't remember correctly.

Thanx u all for the insight. Came across another entry level avr, the denon avr E200. How would it compare to the X500.

It is shown as avlbl on e bay for about 23k. How would it match with the polk audio tsx 330. And if not then as a final resort, suggestions on x500 and polk audio tsx 330 pairing

does Yamaha htr 2067 support both passive sub woofer and also an active subwoofer. I have a passive sub woofer with me and want to make use of it. Even if i upgrade to active sub i can make use of the same avr.

i am not able to find yamaha htr 2067 available in any online store. can you please suggest where i can buy that in chennai.
thank u
