Yamaha rxv 683 or marantz sr 5012. Pls help!!! Confused.

Pls pls guys suggest me which one is better. Auditioning is a problem. So suggestions are required.

SR 5012 is quite am old model. U can look at SR6xxx line which is much better.

SR 5012 is not old its new model in 5xxx series , SR 6012 and 7012 are new models in particular series of 6xxx and 7xxx

Marantz would be better in terms of connectivity/Upgrading with power amp in future( Pre Amp output).Sounds more refined.
Yamaha has better built quality and full VFD display compare to Marantz porthole display which is more comfortable when viewing the surround mode if display/TV is not in ON condition.
Ultimately your ears has to decide about the sound which is really subjective

There are dedicated Marantz / Yamaha / Pioneer / Denon threads which contain all experiences and comments from various end users...suggest you read those and come to some decision....

Audition is key.....try to see some youtube videos to gain some idea about these avrs....

Bought a marantz and thanks guys for helping. The sound i more open and big. And yes its more warmer than Yamaha. Thank you fellow members you all were a great help.
