Yamaha Sound Projector's - YSP Series

Hello All,

I have been using an Onkyo HTIB for the last 4 years and enjoying that every moment . Now i have been reading endless reviews on Yamaha's Sound Projector's series. specifically on YSP 1100. I am trying to get this unit from US where it costs around 400$. On the website it had mentioned it is a Class B Product. Not sure what it is. Planning to add an sub from Yamaha India in Chennai after i get this product from US.

Does any one know what an Class B item in US Means? Also it would be nice if people who already own an Yamaha YSP models could shed some light on this topic. I am very much interested in this product.

It should be a refurbished product.

Same terminology is used in golobal e-bay also, check there.

Class B is the old stock, probably discontinued. They are on sale before returning the items to the manufacturer. I am sure it is not a refurbished one, as I am an avid ebayer and have had experience with global ebay as well.

Anyone here owns a Yamaha Sound Projector (or) Has auditioned YSP Series. Can u plz share your experience.

My usage will be 75% listening to music & 25% on Movies. Any suggestions. I have auditioned the Philips Sound Bar. It goes out of breath very quickly.

Looks like there is no one around who has experienced Yamaha's YSP Series :sad:. Any ideas on other sound bar's ?

I heard of Sonodyne Soundbar's from India. Has anyone experienced that. I was not able to audition that bcoz, there are no Sonodyne Products in Chennai. If anyone knows plz let me know.

why are you replacing your HTIB with a soundbar? While HTIBs also involve a number of compromises sonically.....soundbars have even more......so why the downgrade?

I suggest, keep your Onkyo and buy a 2 channel setup for music

I am not replacing my Onkyo 7.1 HTIB (HTS-790). Since i moved to a new rented location, the hall dimensions are such that i dropped getting it from my home. Hall size is approx 25 feet long * 8 feet wide.

So bringing in Onkyo will kill its charm. So thought of trying this Yamaha Sound projectors i my new place.Planning to get this one from US where it costs approx 500$. Itz costing a bomb in India (50 k+). Its small & compact & moreover itz from Yamaha. So wanted to try it..
