Yamaha YHT-2910 not recognizing the .dts/.flac files on USB

Hi,

I am new to the forum and I have purchased Yamaha YHT-2910 package just yesterday. I am trying the different options in the receiver. One instance is to have couple of .dts and .flac audio files on USB and trying to play them by plugging into the receiver. However, the receiver is not even listing the file names in the USB. Does the files need to be converted to any other format?

it isnt because it doesn't play anything apart from mp3 or wav i guess..i have played only mp3 and this is normal behaviour..its an amp as a matter of fact and not a media player..so no videos either..hook the usb to a blu ray player or a tv and bitstream the audio to the avr if you want to enjoy flac's ...unless you bought a very hi end avr ,none would play these
