Yhy 196 - no rear channel soumd

Hi,

I have been using the YHT 196 for the last 4 years.

Suddenly, I have no output through my rear channels. There is no sound in rear channels while in test tone and 5CH Enhancer mode.

My rear speakers are working when I connect it to the front channel port.

I contacted the service team and they told me that they have to change rear channel IC. They said it would cost around 2000Rs.

Now the same service teams says that I have to change the whole circuit board and thry havr quoted me a price of 8200Rs.

Can someone help me with what I should do.

There could possibly your processor might be defective.
Earlier they would have thought your power amp section might be defective (Normal and expected Failure)later opening your receiver they would have realised after checking the Transistor/IC now they came with this conclusion i believe.
Its your call now.
Possible ask for warranty.

Have you tried a factory reset or Self Diagnostic Mode.

While pressing the TONE CONTROL and STRAIGHT keys, press the (Power) key to turn on the power.
The self-diagnostic function mode is activated

Before canceling self-diagnostic function, execute setting for FACTORY PRESET of main menu No.24. (Memory
initialization inhibited or Memory initialized).
* In order to keep the user memory preserved, be sure to select PRESET INHIBITED (Memory initialization inhibited).

Last Resort is the RESET....if it fails then repairs...

I have similar issue with front speakers and subwoofer output.
Where can I get it repaired in Mulund, Mulund ? My system is 6-7 year old..

Now Front and Rear are working but center and sub-woofer are not.

Not sure what the issue is..

Check all input cables(change them and see). I had an HDMi cable gone bad recently, took me 2 days to figure out it was the cable and nothing else.

I tried with all inputs and also with test tone.. same result.
