"Hello! I am an electrical engineer based in Pune. I have been interested in music since my teens. At sixteen, I put together a system by getting whatever, my older family members didn't want. I had a Kenwood KA300 Amplifier, with a AKAI cassette player and National Panasonic speakers. In 2010 I bought my first music system, a Parasound 2100 (Pre-Amplifier) 2125 (Power Amplifier), coupled with Definitive Technology BP7006 BI-Polar Semi Powered Speakers. I further added a Emotiva XDA-1 DAC. Last year, I Upgraded my speakers to a pair of SVS Ultra Towers. I further plan to upgrade the DAC, AMplifier and add a Streamer to the pack."

This was my introduction to this group in July this year. Since then I have upgraded my Amplifier to the "Luxman L505UxII" and I have changed my speaker cables to " Mogami 3104 with Banana Plug". The reason I post this here is to get advice regarding buying a Streamer cum Media Manager. I have about 2TB of FLAC music that I have been collecting over the last 13 years, and I am Ripping all my CDs to FLAC also (about 500 of them).

I am tending towards the EVERSOLO DMP-A6. I further intend to upgrade my DAC as well. So I would like to connect the DMP-A6 to it.

Any advice on this account would be much appreciated. If there are other devices you think I should look at, please let me know.

A Big Thank You All in Advance.

Eversolo got great reviews, some forum members reviewed very positively, u can count 👍

Has anyone used an Eversolo DPM-A8 with an M.2 SSD and if so which brand of SSD and model. Also does it fit in with a heat sink. Is that necessary for usage of 1 to 2 hrs a day. How easy was it to catalogue ones media and then look up and play them using Artist, Album, Track or Playlists

I used it with A6 ME. There is a video on how to install and it was simple. The indexation process is pretty quick - like with 20 minutes the full index was completed. The app allows easy sorting by artists, albums, track, etc

Thanks for your response and details on time to index etc. Did you use a heat sink on the SSD or just the SSD and do you mind telling me the brand of SSD you opted for. Thx

There's no need for a heatsink for the SSD on the A8.

I have used a M.2 SSD on my DMP-A6 since I bought it. Its been almost a year now. I installed a Samsung Evo 970 Pro (Without a Heatsink) I haven't had any issues. There have been days when I have run the streamer for more than 8 hours at a time.

You need not buy a very fast Read/Write speed (latest model). SSD by default has a good read/write speed. You just need to buy a reliable SSD.

Thank you for confirming this

The eversolo DMP A8 does not come pre installed with Apple Music and Apple Classical. Though it is one of the few streamers that can play native lossless and hires music through Apple. Has anyone in India been successyin getting the apps on the device and used it for the above. If so what is the source of valid APk files for these apps if the way to get it on the eversolo is to side load. Thx In India being the key word and for Apple Music subscription in India ?

Which version of Apple Music does the eversolo DPM A8 running firmware 1.3.20 support ?
Does that version of the streaming service from Apple only play back 44.1Khz 16 bit or also supports playback 192Khz 24 bit if the track is a hires track ?

Thank you for the detailed response

I’ve been using the native Apple Music app on DMP A6. No issue, works perfectly in cast mode

Thanks. If you can selects apps on the main screen and select Apple Music and then use the three dots at the top right, go to settings, and About and check the version of the Apple Music app that would be helpful. thx

Purchase the Audiolab 6000A Integrated Amplifier at a special offer price.
