Hi as per price reported by my bro ( not in hi fi scene) Marantz NR 1501 AVR is available at Alfa ,Vile Parle Mumbai at Rs 25500.

I think it is possibaly lowest price AVR in grey with Upscaling amy HD audio support

In fact US price is US$ 599 !!

The NR1501 is the first of a new range of AV-Receivers. It provides the customer full functionality and convenience in a very elegant and low height cabinet design. It nicely fits to the Marantz DVD player or even to a Marantz Blu-ray player as it has decoders for standard resolution and high definition audio like DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD on board. Video signals connected analogue will be converted to HDMI and for digital sources 4 HDMI 1.3a inputs are available. Even i saw this piece and found it interesting. the lower power rating is ok for me, only requirement is it should take on all the decoding business without issue. that was a silver piece. i need a black one.

Hemantji, I was able to listen to this amp in action for both movies and music and I have to say its a very good performer unlike what one may read from the conservative 50wpc specs.
Especially music sounded great on the amp, I was really moved by the way songs with string instruments sounded on it.
If it does HD audio decoding and is available for 25k, thats one sweet deal!
Movies also sounded ok with Paradigm cinema package and also with Mission speakers.

My comman sense saya Marantz 50 WPC = 80 WPC Of Onkyo/Yamaha = 150 WPC of Sony!

i am looking out for 7.1 for my htpc. scheme is all black so need a black av receiver also.
i almost got into a fight getting a black sugo case sometime back. soon a 5770 gpu will join in new setup in progress.

Thats good news,
Pioneer reported as cheapest(13k to 15k).Now reputed Marantz joins party adding 2more ch.
I found only thing lacking is 5ch analoge input for HTPC 5.1 out.

Well I am talking of 5.1 in for analoge connection as it can be useful for future formats(many may change AVR that time)

AED to INR @ 12.5 INR per AED and rounded off to nearest 100 INR

FYI the standard conversion rate from USD to AED is 3.67 AED per USD.

I am taking time deciding between denon 1910 and marantz NR1501 till i shift to new place, although alfa guy says he may not have marantz in stock when i want.
1910 has in comparision
more power
better video reproduction
