Xtreamer Media Player (XMP) Owners Thread

I am looking for a 2.5 inch internal HDD (500GB or 320 GB) for Xtreamer..
budget is 5K..

Please suggest which one I should go for?
(share the price details as well)

I could find a few on ebay india:-

1. Seagate 500GB, 5400 RPM, Rs.4599/-
2. Seagate 320GB, 7200 RPM, Rs.4250/-
3. WD blue 320GB, 5400 RPM, Rs.2700/-
4. Seagate 320GB, 5400 RPM, Rs.2900/-
All with 5 Yrs warranty.

If anybody using a HDD inside Xtreamer, Please share your experience.

hi friends was playing some files from my 1Tb hdd to Xtreamer thru network sharing from my pc and almost 35% of files were "invalid File" surprising the same (infact all) the files are perfectly playing on my AC RYAN PLay on Hd! any one facing same problem???

Finally ordered Xtreamer

Hi,

After a lot of deliberation and days of search (and research) for a media player, I finally placed an order for Xtreamer (without wifi). The other media player I was considering was WDTV live, and then Xtreamer Pro. But finally went with Xtreamer.

Now, waiting eagerly for my unit to arrive and put it to test. Will post my test results soon. I thank all of you for helping me to arrive at this decision.

I have a similar problem, Some files show "Invalid File" when played from one of the harddisks (500GB My Passport) while they play OK from another hard disk (160GB, Freecom), both are played from the same USB port and when playing on the PC the files are ok

Can you open files in VLC player on PC? In VLC, select Tools->Codec Information in menu.

Post the output here for couple of files. It could be because file format is not supported or because coded is not supported.

I recently bought the Xtreamer after reading the reviews in this forum.
I have a query about the video output from Xtreamer. I connected Xtreamer to my 720p plasma via HDMI.
I played a 8gb mkv but the display shows a signal of 576i. Does this mean that the mkv file is of resolution 576i only or is there a setting in Xtreamer to change the output resolution to 720p or higher.

Please advise.

You need to change the resolution under the settings menu of your Xtreamer, and there under the HDMI resolution settings set it to 720P.

I am at firmware 2.2 and under A/V settings I found HDMI Chroma Sub-sampling option but changing that didn't make any difference. Could you please give a little detailed instruction on where I could find the setting to change to 720p.

Vikram, if I remember right it is under A/V->Video. By default, it will be 1080p, you can either change it to 720p or leave it as is.

Also, I suspect it could be your HDMI cable which is faulty or is not designed to do high bandwidths. Did you check with another video or with another HDMI cable?

If the HDMI cable is not able to do high bandwidth , you will see handshaking issues and flickering of the images and breaking up of signal

Thanks guys. I found the option on Xtreamer remote. Button 9 (TV Out) allows to switch video output modes.

i think xtreamer should be fine.... what makes you consider the pro version...

Unless out of budget, I think you should get xtreamer pro - because it seems the company would soon abandon xtreamer and take latest features on pro. Pro also has hd sound pass through.

Pro has not sold as much as xtreamer , nor it is that high in demand, most of the users are still buying xtreamer so we should not loose faith as we still see firmware updates coming out for xtreamer

If the Pro actually passes through HD audio then its a no brainer i guess. Also the added advantage (both cost and convenience) of twin SATA in built kind of makes me greedy.

The hd sound pass through feature will be made available only in future FW. Original xtreamer pro will not have it. We donot know if it comes true as this one also based on Realtek chip.

Hi guys, new to the forum, Have made an enquiry and NV trading has quoted a price of 7990 without the antenna. I am supposed to pay it into their kotak mahindra bank account. from going through the thread I know the company is reliable. but i find the price i have been quoted to be lesser than what i have read through . So is it okay?
