If you are into games then PS3 is a great blu ray player.I think Lg and samsung have decent 3d blu ray players. The LG bx580 goes for 10k.

I dont want to start a new thread for this, but I am too looking for a blu ray player. But I am confused whether to go for a PS3 or a specific blu ray player? Can you guys help me out?
How is the media format support on panasonic bdp ?
Media format support in panasonic is pathetic
This is my first and last panasonic product in my life. I feel this is a junk company which doesn't provide any value to it's customers. They price exorbitantly
I will even take reviews from whathifi etc with pinch of salt
they either get paid or fanboys of some companies and praise them
Their review on bdt 210 is amazing and they say "it's pure gold all through product"
I owned a samsung bluray before and I feel that has better picture quality, vast media support and less costly
But bdt 210 is not bad, but not value for money, buy it only because it's the cheapest region free solution for 3D bluray

I am planing to get PS3 Slim but I just want to make sure that it playes true 3d and 5.1 can be connected with amp. It's not that I want to just play games. Please suggest. As of now I have a panasonic Home theater which dose not have optical or Coaxial Input or provision. Is there any way to get 5.1 output with my current home theater. Please help!!!

did u have any problem buying the firmware? they r putting up a holier than thou attitude on their site. u need to apply with a filled in application form and if they are happy with it they will grant u permission to buy the firmware, no get the firmware free by sending a donation to them the amount of which they will specify!!!
how much did u have to donate?
i am getting the 310 in december and may want to buy the firmware. but as i see it that may not even be necessary unless it is very cheap, because i will be buying most of my blurays from the USA and the few that i Buy of Hindi & Telugu films are always region free.
